What Does Hosted SMS Mean?

Simply put, Hosted SMS is a technology that adds business-grade messaging capabilities to a landline or existing business phone number.

This does not affect your voice capabilities of the existing number. Hosted SMS only registers the number for SMS to route in and out of Sonar's platform.

How Do I Get Started With Hosted SMS?

All you have to do is send an email to [email protected] and we will handle the rest for you! Sonar will require the end user to complete ownership verification and an LOA signature.

What Features/Functions Come With My New Hosted SMS Number?

Your existing number will have all the functionality Sonar offers.

How Long Will it Take for My Newly Added Numbers to Become Messaging-Enabled?

It usually takes messaging registries 3-4 business days to become officially enabled and ready for use.

How Do I Verify I Own the Number I Want to Host?

Sonar provides the ability to verify ownership of a number using a phone verification call, where the user answers the phone and passes back a security token to Sonar. You may also verify through paperwork.

What Information Does Sonar Need?

1. The user's full name and company. An authorized user is an individual who is a decision maker for the phone number.
2. The service address associated with the phone number. This must be an actual physical address (no PO boxes).
3. Sonar will send the Letter of Authorization document to be signed electronically to the authorized user's business email.
